ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Claire, I'm a technology consultant with a passion for design thinking and creativity.
I love design thinking and creating engaging environments for problem solving. In my current role at a Big 4 consulting firm, I run creative workshops for clients, and facilitate problem solving sessions.
I graduated TU Dublin Product Design BSc. (formerly DIT) with a fist class honours GPA of 4.0, as well as being awarded Student of the Year 2018, and Best Product Design Student of the class of 2019.
My co-workers and classmates describe me as someone who can always reframe a problem to be better understood, someone who can interpret and distil multiple diverse inputs from different directions in a unique and helpful way. I always try to help those around me improve their understanding without making them feel uncomfortable.

Leadership and Teamwork
I thrive in an environment where I can be creative, and have an input as part of a motivated team. I have experience in both team and leader roles as well as in fast-paced environments.
I love to bounce ideas off my team and arrive at a co-created solution we are all happy with. In my current role I have a lot of autonomy with creating client sessions, so it is important for me that I get input from my team mates
In September 2018, I was chosen to represent TU Dublin at an intensive international summer design school, where we worked with coffee machine manufacturers Franke to analyse and redesign their products and services using design sprints. As part of this summer school, I co-ordinated a multi-disciplinary team to both perform and take part in all aspects of the design process from design research through to prototyping and user testing. This experience gives me the tools needed for owning and managing, end to end, the design and experience for client sessions as well as for coordinating design sprints, customer co-creation events and user feedback sessions. I was elected chairperson of the DIT Design Society, after a successful year as vice-chair. I opened the society to be more inclusive and accessible by the wider university environment, as I felt that only catering to product designers meant we were missing out on a huge opportunity to collaborate and learn from other courses. I set up and facilitated creative evenings where students from many different courses and disciplines worked together to complete a creative brief. I also Organised society trips to Salone Del Mobile, Milan and Dutch Design Week. These experiences give me the necessary experience needed to own and manage, end to end, the design and experience for client sessions, as well as motivating team-members.
Problem Solving
Before I made the decision to study product design, I completed two years studying maths and physics in UCD. During this time I was a recipient of Intel's prestigious Women In Technology scholarship. This scholarship included a bursary as well as industry mentoring. Both my time with Intel and with physics give me a unique perspective as a designer. I have a well-rounded understanding of problem solving - from both a human and a technical side in any issue.
All of my experiences have shaped me both as a designer and a person, influencing my philosophy and giving me a passion for problem solving and collaboration.
